How does publishing work in OKO, and what is the 72-hour show window?

Publishing opens a draft event page to viewers and buys one show: a 72-hour show window that starts 24 hours before the event date and ends 48 hours after it. A new page is a draft that only your team can see until you publish it.

The three stages of a page

Draft: the page exists but is not published. Viewers who open the link see that the page is not published yet. Your team sees a preview. Presence, clicks and form submissions are not recorded, and the chat does not work yet.

Published: viewers can open the page. Before the show window opens, it works as an announcement: the page and your forms. Inside the window it is the full page with the chat, and analytics can run.

Held: the page moves here by itself, by the clock, 48 hours after the event date. Viewers still see the page and the video as you left it, and the chat history stays visible. New chat messages, presence and analytics sessions stop.

These stages describe the page. They do not describe your video, and OKO does not track whether you are on air. “Start session” and “End session” in Analytics only manage analytics sessions.

Publish a page

  1. Set the “Event date” in Setup. A page cannot be published without a date, and the show window of that date must not be over.
  2. Press “Publish”. The “Publish the page” dialog shows the bill: the page, 10 lumens for each paid block you switched on, and the optional live control room. It also shows which wallet pays and what is left after.
  3. Confirm with “Publish”. If something blocks publishing, such as too few lumens or no active plan, the dialog says what and what to do.

What publishing costs

The page costs 100 lumens. Each of the five paid blocks you switch on adds 10 lumens. The live control room, which is part of Pro and Max, adds 50 lumens.

A plain show with the page and three blocks costs 130 lumens. With the control room it costs 180.

Your own wallet pays for a page in your personal workspace. The workspace owner's wallet pays for a page in a shared workspace. A teammate needs the “Edit event setup” permission to publish.

The show window

One publication is one show. The window runs from 24 hours before the event date to 48 hours after it, 72 hours in total. The chat, presence, analytics and the start of sessions work only inside it.

Outside the window the page is a storefront. It stays visible, forms still collect leads, and the video is untouched.

Move the date

Moving the date costs nothing. Inside the window the page has paid for, you change the date on the page itself. Before the window opens, press “Unpublish”, change the date and publish again. After the window there is no move: use “Duplicate” to make a new draft for the next show, which gets its own bill.

Unpublish, trash and duplicate

“Unpublish” works only until the window opens. The page goes back to a draft, and the lumens you paid at publication return to the wallet that paid, except any part that was drawn from lumens that had already expired. Top-ups for blocks and for the control room are not returned. Publishing again is a new bill.

Once the window has opened, the page can no longer be unpublished with a refund.

“Move to trash” keeps the page for 30 days, and you can restore it. If the window has not opened yet, moving a published page to the trash also unpublishes it and returns the lumens.

“Duplicate” makes a new draft with a new address, from a page in any stage.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a publication last?

A publication buys a 72-hour show window: 24 hours before the event date until 48 hours after. The chat, presence and analytics work in that window. After it the page stays visible as a held page.

How much does it cost to publish an event page?

The page costs 100 lumens, plus 10 lumens for each paid block you switch on, plus 50 lumens if you add the live control room on Pro or Max. Building and previewing the page cost nothing.

Can I change the event date after publishing?

Yes, and it is free. Inside the paid window you change the date in place. Before the window opens you can unpublish, change the date and publish again. After the window, duplicate the page.

Can I get my lumens back if I cancel the show?

Yes, until the window opens. Unpublish the page, or move it to the trash, and the lumens paid at publication return to the wallet. Once the window has opened there is no refund.
